Repertoire

A solo program of 40 to 50 minutes in length consisting of: 

  1. One Prelude and Fugue from Well Tempered Clavier (Book I or II) by J.S. Bach
  2. One complete classical sonata by J. Haydn, W. Mozart, L. Beethoven, or M. Clementi
  3. One work or more by P.I. Tchaikovsky (competitor’s choice)
  4. Three virtuoso Etudes, one each by F. Chopin, F. Liszt and S. Rachmaninov.

A solo program of 50 to 60 minutes in length featuring works chosen by the performer and including one or more works by one or more of the following Russian composers: 

M. Balakirev, A. Glazunov, N. Medtner, M. Mussorgsky, N. Myaskovsky, S. Prokofiev, S. Rachmaninov, A. Scriabin, R. Shchedrin, D. Shostakovich, I. Stravinsky, and P.I. Tchaikovsky.

The program should not include pieces performed in Round I.

Two concertos for piano and orchestra:

  1. Concerto No. 1 or No. 2 by P.I. Tchaikovsky
  2. A concerto of the performer’s choice.

If any score or part is not available, the organizing committee may require the performer to provide it within a reasonable period.
