Repertoire

A solo program of 40 to 50 minutes in length consisting of:

  1. Prelude and Sarabande from Solo Cello Suites Nos. 3, 4, 5, or 6 by J.S. Bach.
  2. Pezzo capriccioso, Op. 62 by P.I. Tchaikovsky.
  3. One of caprices from the cycle of caprices, Op. 25 by A. Piatti (except for No. 1).
  4. One or more compositions of the performer's choice.

A solo program of 50 to 60 minutes in length. The program must include one or more pieces by a Russian composer or composers.

  1. A sonata by one of the following composers: L. Beethoven, F. Schubert, J. Brahms, or B. Martinů .
  2. A virtuosic piece.
  3. One or more pieces of the performer’s choice (playing one or two movements of a sonata is allowed).

The program must not include pieces performed during Round I.

Two concertos for cello and orchestra:

  1. Variations on a Rococo theme by P.I. Tchaikovsky.
  2. A concerto of the performer’s choice.

If any score or part is not available, the organizing committee may require the performer to provide it within a reasonable period of time.
