Chen Yibai

BIOGRAPHY

Studied at Music Middle School Affiliated to Shanghai Conservatory Of Music. In November 2016 he joined Cello Akademie Rutesheim and took a masterclass given by Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt. He also took part in masterclasses given by David Geringas, Jens Peter Maintz, Jian Wang, Martti Rousi, Liwei Qin, Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi, Gabriel Schwabe, Wen- Sinn Yang.

In 2013 and 2015 he passed the admission test of Morningside Music Bridge. In February 2018 won the third prize in 11th Lutoslawski International Cello Competition in Warsaw. In September of the same year, he won the second prize in the Enescu International Cello Competition in Bucharest. Currently is studying with Professor Danjulo Ishizaka at the University of the Arts in Berlin. Рlaying on a cello by Joseph Guadagnini ca. 1780-1800 on loan of German Foundation "Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben Hamburg".
