Sara Etelavuori

BIOGRAPHY

Started playing the violin at the age of 3. In 2003 she was accepted to study with Seppo Tukiainen in Sibelius Academy’s youth programme and since 2010 she has been studying in the master’s programme at Sibelius Academy. At the moment studies with prof. Mihaela Martin at Cologne Musikhochschule as a post-masters student and at the Barenboim-Said Academy in Berlin as an artist diploma student. Since September 2018 she also works as the assisting concertmaster at the Deutsche Oper Berlin. Participated in master classes with Ana Chumachenko, Christian Tetzlaff, Régis Pasquier, Pavel Vernikov and Hagai Shaham.

A laureate of numerous international competitions. Plays on a Stefan-Peter Greiner violin (2011) kindly on loan from a Susan Brunnert violins.
