Graduated from the Juilliard School of Music (class of Julian Martin). Has also studied with Dang Thai Son. He is currently pursuing a dual-degree in Economics and Piano Performance through the Harvard University-New England Conservatory of Music Joint-Degree Program, where he studies with Prof. Wha Kyung Byun.
At the age of sixteen he won the fifth prize at the XVII International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition as the youngest ever laureate in the history of the competition. A top prize winner at the Thomas and Evon Cooper International Piano Competition in Oberlin (USA). He was awarded the Jury Discretionary Award at the 15th Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. Has performed with the Cleveland Orchestra and the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra, the Toronto Sinfonietta and the Orchestra of the Royal Academy of Music. He has participated in many festivals and had also the honour to perform in front of Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall.
