Dimitrios Gkogkas (Trumpet)

Age 30 - Greece

He graduated from the Philippos Nakas Conservatory in Corfu (class of Socrates Anthis) and the Royal Academy of Music in London (trumpet class of James Watson and baroque trumpet class of John Hutchins). He participated in master classes with Reinhold Friedrich, Gabor Tarkovi, Bo Nilsson and Frits Damrow.

As a member of QuintEssence brass quintet he reached the final round in Jan Koetsier Brass Quintet Competition in Munich. A third prize winner at Fantini Trumpet Competition in Rome (2016). He held the Principal Trumpet position at the Athens Radio Symphony Orchestra and since 2012 he performs as Principal Trumpet at the National Opera of Greece.
