Jean Xhonneux (Tuba)

He graduated from the Conservatorium Maastricht (the Netherlands) in the class of Prof. Hans Nickel.

First prize winner at the Concours International d’Interprétation Musicale de la Paris-Ville d'Avray (2011). Won the third prize (2012) and the second prize (2016) at the International Competition Città di Porcia in Italy. In April 2012 he won the renowned Concours International de Musique de Chambre of Lyon in France with his brass quintet Eburon Quintet.

He started teaching at the Institut Supérieur de Musique et de Pédagogie IMEP of Namur in Belgium (Music High School) in 2012. In 2016, he became the tuba teacher at the Music School in Welkenraedt, Belgium and in 2018 he was appointed tuba teacher at the Lemmensinstituut (LUCA School of Arts) in Leuven in Belgium. Regularly gives his master classes and solo recitals all over the world (Denmark, Russia, Greece, Spain, Portugal, and France).
