Started studying trombone with Jim Fryer and Terrence Fay at Neighborhood Music School. He graduated from the Northwestern University where he studied with Michael Mulcahy, Christopher Davis, Peter Ellefson, Randall Hawes, Timothy Higgins and Douglas Wright. He has also learned from such teachers as Ian Bousfield, Per Brevig, and Warren Deck.
Has worked with the New World Symphony in Miami Beach, Florida. In September 2016 he joined the San Francisco Symphony as Associate Principal Trombone.
He teaches in the pre-college division at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and as the low brass coach for the SFS Youth Orchestra. He has been guest faculty at the Juilliard School and National Orchestral Institute.
